The Mobile Banking Service will be available to all the customers having Current/ Savings Bank Account (Personal segment). The customers will have to register for the services
All customers can avail the mobile banking service with the Bank irrespective of the service provider for their mobiles.
The service is free of charge. However, the cost of SMS / GPRS connectivity will have to be borne by the customer.
Facilities available in SBI Freedom
1. Fund Transfer (50,000 per day / 2,50,000 per month)
· Transfer of funds between SBI Accounts
· Transfer of funds to Non-SBI Accounts (NEFT)
2. Mobile Top-up
· Any prepaid Mobile (Self and Others)
3. Enquiry services
· Balance enquiry
· Mini statement
4. Demat Account services
· Portfolio value, Request for DIS booklet, Value of holdings, statement of charges, Transaction status etc
5. Requests
· Chequebook request
· Blocking of ATM Debit Cards
6. Bill Pay
· Like Internet Banking different billers can be added which are city specific and bills can be paid through mobile banking
· Bills can be scheduled for auto payment
· Utility bills, credit cards, Insurance premium payments) Donations, Subscriptions
7. M Commerce
· Top up of Tatasky, BigTV, Sun Direct, DishTV connections and receive recharge pins for DigitalTV/Videocon d2h, Merchant payment, SBI life insurance premium etc…
Who can register for this service??
Any SBI Account holder who has availed ATM cum Debit card and has Java enabled mobile handset can use SBI Freedom
How to register for this service?
- If you are not sure that your handset is java enabled, just send a sms <MBSREG> <MOBILE MAKE> <MOBILE MODEL> to 567676 eg: If your handset is NOKIA N73 then just send MBSREG NOKIA N73 to 567676.
If your handset is java enabled, you will receive User id and default MPIN as sms else you will receive a sms that your handset is not enabled with Java
If you are sure that, your handset is java enabled, skip this step 1, and directly download the software as described in step 2 as you can directly register using the SBI Freedom software.
- Download the application SBI Freedom.jar
This can be done by any of the following methods
- Via GPRS : Directly downloading to mobile using GPRS
- Via Data Cable: First download the software to your PC using Internet and then transfer the application to your mobile by using data cable. For this go to http://mobile.prepaidsbi.com/sbidownloader/downloadapp.jsp
- Via Blue tooth: from any other mobile or a PC having Bluetooth (In some handsets like Nokia Smart phones, HTC & Samsung the application received through Bluetooth will not execute. In such cases this method does not work )
- Install the application in the mobile phone: Click on the application received/downloaded in the handset it will start installing.
- Register for mobile banking service
Those who have received their user id and Mpin by sending sms as described in step 1 need not do this.
Others initialize the application by clicking the icon of SBI Freedom. Click on Options button and select Register menu. This will send an SMS from the mobile to 567676 automatically and you will receive the user id and default mpin as sms
- Validation: Enter the userid as it appears in the sms received by you. Remember that it is case sensitive.
Click on options (on the left side)
Choose login. You will be prompted to change the MPIN. If you are not prompted, go to settings - Change MPIN (Should be minimum six digits)
The mobile handset registration ends here. Now the customer should do the ATM Registration
- Activation at ATM: After swiping the Debit Card choose the option Mobile banking
Choose the option Registration and enter the mobile number
Ensure that the correct 10 digit number is entered and choose confirm
The mobile number entered is displayed on the ATM screen
Choose confirm
Message “Your transaction is complete” is flashed
Collect the printout
Your mobile is ready for transaction now
